The public can contact Members of Council in a variety of ways.
Informally, citizens can directly contact individual Members of Council, one on one, utilizing the contact information provided on this website. Members of Council welcome the opportunity to hear from the public by regular mail, telephone, or email. Click on the "Mayor" and "Council" links in the menu tree (at the left side of this page) to obtain current contact information.
For persons wishing to formally address Council (as a corporate body), Council has adopted a Procedure By-law (contained in its entirety in our Virtual Library) which prescribes the process to be followed by any person or group wanting to formally present information on any matter, or to make a request of Council.
For ease of reference, those procedures are summarized in a document called: Delegation and Correspondence Policies.
Either informally or formally, Members of Council are available to discuss matters of municipal business with citizens.
Any personal information contained in communications directed to Council and its standing committees is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, and will be used to assist Council Members in their decision making processes. Questions about this collection should be addressed to the Town Clerk.
Communications addressed to Council and its Standing Committees will become part of the public record and may be placed on a public agenda made available through the Town of Lincoln web site.
