Celebrate our 50th anniversary with heritage demonstrations, foods, dancing and music.
Isn’t this the 49th anniversary…?
It’s the 50th presentation of Pioneer Day! The museum site will be closed all next year for our new building so while the actual anniversary is 2017, we are celebrating the 50th presentation of our beloved festival.
How are we celebrating?
Here are some of the exciting ways we are celebrating:
Five certified appraisers will be on hand to tell you whether your favourite heirloom is an honest-to-goodness treasure or…sentimental value only! They are offering their service by donation from 1pm – 4pm only (suggested $2 per item). Remember you will have to carry your treasures with you and we cannot store them while you enjoy the rest of Pioneer Day, so please either bring small, portable items or very clear photographs. (Please note: Appraisals are not official).
Come dressed up in your best pioneer or heritage outfits and perhaps you’ll win a prize! Two categories only: Adult and Children (14 yrs and under) . Meet Helen by the ramp of the Heritage House at 1.30 pm for a Parade and Judging.
Join Mayor Sandra Easton and other special guests for a free slice of Pioneer Day Cake. Cutting and serving at 1pm on the back deck of the Heritage House (while quantities last).
Pioneer Day runs from 10 am – 4 pm.
Free parking and shuttle bus from the Jordan Arena. Admission at the gates, $5 adults, $4 seniors and children 10 and under, and $15 family rate (2 adults, 2 or more children). All proceeds to the Jordan Historical Museum.
