Enforcement of Mandatory Closures & Restrictions

Enforcement of Mandatory Closures & Restrictions

The Government of Ontario has recently set in place Stage One for the reopening of the Province.  However, many Emergency Order provisions remain in place; such as, prohibiting gatherings of more than five people and the continued closure of park amenities, in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Restricts continue to be lessened and modified by the Government of Ontario. Check their website for the latest updates and detailed information.

Fines can be issued for non-compliance. Enforcement of the provincial order is jointly through the Town's municipal law enforcement & Niagara Regional Police Service. Failing to comply with an emergency order carries a fine of $750 per offense, and up to $1,000 for obstructing those attempting to carry out their duties under the Act.
