We are looking for someone to help shape the next phase of Lincoln’s growth and development. Reporting to the Director, Planning & Development, the Development Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing the technical development review aspect of development in the Town throughout the planning application and construction phases. While focusing on the approximately 50-hectare Prudhommes Landing site on the lakeshore, this position will also review all other development applications and be responsible for liaising with agencies, as appropriate. This positionwill serve as the principle point of contact for development engineering between the Town and developer / consultant engineering staff, assisting with forecasting, reviewing and evaluating applications, servicing upgrade needs for planned growth, preparing agreements and advising other departments or agencies regarding growth and development initiatives. Other duties include (but are not limited to) conducting site supervision and inspection, preparing and presenting reports to Council and coaching and mentoring the development and engineering staff.   

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional designation (e.g. P.Eng, EIT or CET)
  • PMP certification would be considered an asset
  • Minimum seven (7) years of related work experience, ideally in a municipal setting
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills acquired through progressive experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Municipal Engineering practices and procedures, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications and Ontario’s land use planning system, T.A.C., Geometric Guidelines and municipal government processes;
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evening work.
