Extreme Cold Alerts

Staying Healthy and Safe During Extreme Cold

The Town of Lincoln will open warming centres when:

  • Environment Canada forecasts a temperature of -15° C or colder, or a wind chill of -20°C or colder.
  • When weather conditions are severe enough to warrant alerting the community to the risks involved with prolonged exposure to the outdoors (blizzard, wind chill warning)

Public Health identifies those at risk and precautions to stay healthy during extreme cold.
