IT Help Desk Analyst

Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Services and working closely within a team environment, this position is the initial point of contact for all incidents and service requests and is mainly responsible for installing and performing routine maintenance on the IT systems. Other duties include responding to problems regarding municipal hardware and software and acting as support for Council and Committee meetings. 

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Ability to troubleshoot common hardware and software problems. Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate technical information in a friendly, effective, and efficient way.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and work through frequent customer interruption
  • In-Depth understanding of MS Office suite (especially Word, Excel and Outlook) and Windows 10
  • Fundamental understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Network Technician, Network Engineering, Software Support, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of experience.
  • A valid Ontario Class “G” or “G2” driver’s license.
  • At least one (1) year of desktop support, help desk support or related experience.
  • Ability to infrequently work afternoon shifts and flexibility for irregularly scheduled shifts as needed with notice

In addition to a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, we offer an excellent benefit package and pension plan. The hourly wage, based on a 35-hour work week, is $30.28.
