Notice of the Adoption of an Amendment to the Official Plan for the Prudhomme's Secondary Plan
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Lincoln passed By-law No. 2018-26 on the 16th day of April 2018, under Sections 17 and 21 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990. By-law No. 2018-26 adopts Official Plan Amendment No. 3 to the Official Plan of the Town of Lincoln.
In reaching its decision to approve By-law No. 2018-26 and adopt Official Plan Amendment No. 3, Council considered all of the written and oral submissions and agrees with the planning report analysis and recommendations and finds that, subject to the conditions of approval, the amendment meets the Planning Act criteria, is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement and complies with the Growth Plan and the Niagara Region Official Plan and the purpose and intent of Town Official Plan.
Amendment No. 3 will be forwarded to the Region of Niagara for approval. Below is an explanation of the purpose and effect of Amendment No. 3 and a map outlining the location of the lands affected by Amendment No. 3. A complete copy of Amendment No. 3 is available for inspection in the Corporate Services Department during office hours - Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on the Prudhomme's Secondary Plan web page or from the Planning and Development Department.
Explanation of the Purpose and Effect of Amendment No. 3
The purpose of this Amendment is to the amend the Official Plan to promote redevelopment of the Prudhommes Secondary Plan area. The Prudhommes Secondary Plan has been prepared to provide a vision and planning framework that will guide development of a complete community. The plan provides long range policy guidance for:
- Land use and building heights
- Transportation, including walking, cycling, transit and road networks
- Urban design and public realm improvements, including design of complete streets and communities
- Parks and open space network
- Environmental Protection
Secondary Plan has been prepared to align and implement a wide range of local, Regional and Provincial policies, including the policies of the Regional Official Plan, Regional Transportation Master Plan, Regional Master Servicing Plan, the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, the Provincial Policy Statement and the Greenbelt Plan.
