Public Service Announcement - Phone Poll to Gain Public Opinion on Cannabis Retail

Public Opinion Phone Poll Being Conducted on Cannabis Retail

The Town of Lincoln has secured a third party to conduct a public opinion phone survey about cannabis retail.  The company is PrimeContact. Residents may begin to receive calls tonight, Thursday, Jan. 10, and the poll will finish on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. The Town is requesting residents please participate in the survey.

The poll is being conducted to assist Council in attaining the public's opinion on whether Lincoln should opt in or opt out of private cannabis retail outlets. A report about cannabis retail was presented to Council on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, and Council has deferred the report until this public opinion can be sought.

A decision is required to the Province by Jan. 22, 2019, on whether Lincoln will opt in or opt out of private cannabis retail stores. Therefore, a Special Council Meeting is being held immediately after the Planning & Economic Development Meeting on Jan. 21, 2019.
