Proposed Community Improvement Plan

The Town has retained Sierra Planning and Management to prepare a Industrial Lands and Rural Areas Community Improvement Plan for the Town. A Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is a planning and economic development framework that includes financial incentive programs designed to stimulate private sector investment and development.

The focus of the Industrial Lands and Rural Areas Community Improvement Plan is to unlock the existing supply of vacant and underutilized land that have been designated and/or zoned for industrial uses to help protect and expand our industrial base, thereby creating new jobs in the local economy. In addition, the CIP will be looking to incentivize development of ‘Value-Added’ Agricultural Uses in rural areas, such as attracting visitors and tourists to the Town, as well as assisting in addressing specific priorities and issues for the rural areas.

A copy of the Draft Community Improvement Plan is available for review online or from the Planning and Development Department.
