Media Release: Arts Lives Here community festival celebrated art and culture across Lincoln

Lincoln, ON – (June 28, 2022) – The Town successfully hosted the first Arts Lives Here Trail on June 24, 25 and 26, 2022.  The community festival occurred at various venues across the Town, highlighting multiple arts and cultural offerings across Lincoln.

Art Lives Here was an opportunity to engage with artists in the places they work and go behind the scenes to look at how and where art is created.  It was a weekend to celebrate art in Lincoln with curated markets, family activities, concerts, and cultural events. Participants experienced public spaces in new ways that highlight the creativity of the community.

“The Arts Lives Here community festival aligns with Council’s commitment to a connected and vibrant community,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton.  “We proudly celebrate our history and embrace and support a creative spirit for today and the future by recognizing and hosting cultural and community initiatives.”

“Art Lives Here is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the vibrant arts and culture scene in Lincoln,” said Jessica Wilson, Cultural Coordinator for the Town of Lincoln.  “It was an opportunity to showcase talented artists and creators in our community.”

Arts Lives Here was driven by Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre staff collaborating with the arts and culture community.  It was a two-day festival incorporating 15 venues and over 60 artists and musicians.
