  • Personal medical use in public spaces is the same as recreational use, listed above, and regulated by the Smoke Free Ontario Act and Regional By-law
  • Licensing and compliance to regulations of growing facilities belongs to the federal government
  • However, oversight of the regulations from federal and provincial perspective is multi jurisdictional to include Health Canada and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) - Environmental Management Branch

Environment Canada issues heat alerts when:

  • The humidex is 40°C or higher for two consecutive days

  • Daily temperatures are expected to reach 31°C or higher and overnight temperatures are at least 20°C or higher, for two consecutive days

Amenity Information 

Tree ($750): Includes the installation of a 50-60 mm caliper tree and a memorial tag.  Tree planting takes place in the spring and fall and a two-year warranty is provided by the Town. All species must meet the approval of staff based on the best fit for the location to ensure the long-term health of the tree.

Bench ($2,295): Includes accessible cement pad, a memorial plaque and installation in an approved location.  The make and model of the bench is at the sole discretion of the Town.

Picnic table ($2,495): Includes an accessible hexagonal picnic table and a memorial plaque, placed in an approved location. Constructed with 100% highly durable recycled plastic slates, galvanized steel frame, stainless steel hardware.


Payments are to be made by cheque. Please make cheques payable to the Town of Lincoln.

Conditions of Agreement
  1. I agree to the Park Amenities Commemorative Program Guidelines which cover how selection of the site is determined and the specific location for the amenity.
  2. I understand that plaques and amenities will not be maintained in perpetuity. They will be removed when repair is no longer feasible (as determined by the Town) due to damage and deterioration from the natural elements or otherwise
  3. I understand the plaque will be given to me (or my alternate contact if I cannot be located) when the amenity is removed at the end of its lifecycle (as determined by the Town). If I or my alternate contact cannot be located, the plaque will be stored at a Town facility for a period of three (3) years, after which it will be re-purposed or destroyed.
  4. The amenity may be temporarily removed for the purpose of maintenance, construction or park festivals and activities
  5. Public access to the site or the amenity location may be restricted if it is deemed unsafe due to adverse weather conditions or construction.
  6. In the event of vandalism, the Town will make reasonable efforts to restore the amenity or plaque back to its original state but will not replace either item.
  7. I understand the Town may permanently change the location of the amenity due to park and road improvement or reconstruction work. I (or my alternate contact if I cannot be located) will be informed of this change.
  8. I understand that it is my responsibility to provide the Town with updated personal contact information.

To acquire a marriage licence:

  • Print, complete, and sign the application form
  • Make an appointment with the Clerks department, contact by email or call 905-563-2799 ext. 513 
  • Bring the completed form and two pieces of valid identification (for each partner) to your appointment at Town Hall
  • Pay the licence fee of $124.50 in-person with cash, credit or debit. Cheques will not be accepted.

You have 15 days from the date of the penalty notice to request a screening. The screening decision will result in either ticket payment, adjustment, or cancellation. For more details about the screening process please visit the AMPS page.

Screenings are held every Thursday (duration of approx. 15 minutes) between 1 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Screenings will be scheduled for the next available Thursday. 

In-person screening appointments must occur on the date specified unless prior notice is given. Failure to attend a scheduled screening appointment will result in a non-appearance fee of $50 being added to the penalty notice fine amount.

  • I am the registered owner of the vehicle or I am acting on behalf of the registered owner of the vehicle
  • I am the person named on the penalty notice
  • I acknowledge that if I fail to appear and/or fail to remain at my scheduled in-person screening until my matter has been determined by the screening officer, the administrative penalty will be affirmed, and I will be liable for an additional fee for having failed to appear
  • I have read and understand the conditions of this application

Please Note:

  • You must include the non-refundable appeal fee of $420.00. Cheques or money orders are payable to the Town of Lincoln. Do not send cash in the mail. 
  • Should the Appeal Notice be received after the deadline to appeal, it will not be processed.
