Public Works Staff - Heavy Equipment Operator, Truck Drivers and Labourers

The Town of Lincoln, located in the beautiful Niagara Region, offers a unique environment that encompasses Lake Ontario, the Bruce Trail and Niagara Escarpment and is situated between Hamilton and St. Catharines. These positions will be responsible for assisting with development and management of a high-quality roads infrastructure and overall transportation plan. Day to day duties may include: ditching, flagging, installing culverts, digging, supporting water and sewer maintenance and emergency repairs, snow and winter operations, etc.

For the role you wish to apply to, the successful candidate must possess the follow:

Heavy Equipment Operator:

  • 3-5 years experience operating heavy machinery such as a grader, backhoe, loader (preferably in a municipal environment)
  • Certification in the operation of heavy equipment
  • DZ license
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated skills working within a team and individually

Truck Operator:

  • 2-3 years experience driving a trucks over 20,000 GVW (preferably in a municipal environment)
  • DZ license
  • Experience in winter maintenance operations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated skills working within a team and individually


  • 2-3 years experience performing physical labour outside in all types of weather (preferably within a municipal environment)
  • Direct experience working with road construction
  • Experience in winter maintenance operations
  • Class “D” or “A” license with a “Z” endorsement would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation skills

These are full-time positions and include the expectation to work overtime during evening or weekend hours. We offer an excellent benefit package and pension plan as well as a dynamic work environment.
