Thanks for a great summer! Our swimming lessons are finished for the season and pools close on Labour Day. Check back in the Spring 2025 for summer program information.
Make a splash this summer at the Allan F. Gretsinger Pool and Jordan Lions Pool. Our outdoor pools offer a variety of programs including swimming lessons, public swim programs, leadership courses, swim team and private rentals.
We offer the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program which stresses lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. Available lessons include Parent & Tot (ages 0 – 3yrs), Preschool (3 – 5yrs), Swimmer (6 – 12 yrs), Canadian Swim Patrol – Rookie, Ranger, Star, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross. We incorporate valuable Water Smart® education into all lessons that will last a lifetime.
The Town of Lincoln offers Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program which stresses lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate valuable Water Smart® education that will last a lifetime.
Swimming Lessons will be offered in one week Monday – Friday Sessions.
Most participants will require 2 one-week sessions to learn and complete the skills in each level.
Each child receives a progress card at the end of each session and a sticker/badge when a level is completed. Progress reports will be uploaded into your online PlayLincoln account for future reference.
Don’t know which level to register your child in? Free evaluation screenings are available at any Town pools during leisure swims. Simply ask a staff member at the pool.

Through structured in-water interaction between parent and child, we stress the importance of play in developing water-positive attitudes and skills. Activities and progressions are based on child development, parents register in the level appropriate for their child's age.
All classes are 30 minutes. Parents or caregivers participate in the class with their child.

Give your child a head start on learning to swim. The Lifesaving Society Preschool program develops an appreciation and healthy respect for the water before these kids get in too deep. In our basic aquatic progressions we work to ensure 3 to 5-year olds become comfortable in the water and have fun acquiring and developing a foundation of water skills. We incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in all Preschool levels.
All classes are 30 minutes.

The Lifesaving Society's 6-level Swimmer program makes sure your children learn how to swim before they get in too deep. Swimmer progressions accommodate children 5 years and older including absolute beginners as well as swimmers who want to build on the basics. We stress lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We incorporate Water Smart® education in all levels.
In each level, participants are evaluated based on performance criteria and progress to the next level once all criteria have been successfully completed.
All Swimmer 1 to 4 classes are 30 minutes.
All Swimmer 5 to 6 classes are 60 minutes.

The Canadian Swim Patrol program is the on-ramp to lifeguarding. Ability is the only prerequisite. The Swim Patrol
provides enriched training for those who are ready to go beyond learn-to-swim. Swim Patrol’s three levels - Rookie, Ranger, and Star - continue to develop participants’ swim strokes and provide the skill foundation that prepares them for success in the Society’s Bronze medal awards. Swim Patrol levels provide enriched training for children who are ready to go beyond Learn to Swim.
All Swim Patrol classes are 60 minutes and run for 2 weeks Monday - Friday

After completing Star Patrol, you can enroll your child in youth swimming lessons and/or leadership programs, such as lifeguard and swimming instructor courses.
Bronze Medallion
This course challenges the candidate both mentally and physically. Judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness – the four components of water rescue – form the basis of Bronze Medallion training. Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around the water. Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for assistant lifeguard training in Bronze Cross.
Prerequisite: Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification
Bronze Cross
This course begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the Society’s National Lifeguard and leadership certification programs.
Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion and Lifesaving Society Emergency or Standard First Aid certifications or Standard First Aid from Red Cross or St. John Ambulance.
Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross program will not be offered through the Town of Lincoln in 2024. Information on these programs can be found at www.lifesavingsociety.com
Learning to swim? Have a few skills to work on? Need some extra practice? Or just can’t make regular lessons? Drop-in Swim Lessons are for you! Participants are split into groups according to their skill level. Minimum age is 3 years old.
- No advanced registration required. First come, first serve basis.
- Same instructor not guaranteed, and badges not provided.
- Teen & Adult times available

Come and join the race! Our goal is to provide children in Lincoln with an opportunity to experience competitive swimming in a positive, encouraging and rewarding atmosphere. Members will improve stroke technique and endurance, build team unity, forge new friendships and develop good sportsmanship.
Must be 5 years of age by July 1 and able to swim 25 metres without stopping. Season begins July 1, 2024.
Swim team is location at the Allan F. Gretsinger Pool with practices at the following times
- Junior Practice (5 – 10 yrs) – Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 8 – 9am
- Senior Practice ( 11 – 18 yrs) – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8 – 9am
Swim Meet Schedule: four regular meets throughout the summer on Saturday mornings in July & August and the regional meet in August.
