To obtain this permit for:
- commercial, industrial, institutional and multi residential developments (i.e townhouse, condominium, and apartments) - the applicant/owner must contact the Development Engineering Department to discuss the required process.
- rural properties - the owner/applicant must refer to the Supplemental Sanitary Sewer Service Connection PW2008-03 and Water Service Connection Policy PW2008-02.
- single in-fill family homes or upgrades to services are required to a provide a servicing drawing for the dwelling as part of the permitting application.
Any urban property requiring a water service larger than a 1” (25mm) shall submit a certified design brief completed by a qualified individual with the application. The design brief shall include calculations identifying the need of an increased service size.
It is understood that all servicing systems vary to some degree, therefore the following represents the basic requirements for the review of sewer/water drawings to be undertaken. Specific modifications and/or additions to the drawings may be requested by the Public Works Department to ensure that the proposed system will meet the minimum standards for permit issuance. Failure to include basic information may result in the drawings being rejected or processing of the permit being delayed.
Upon notification of the servicing plan approval, and prior to commencing the works, a Utility Permit (Sewer/Water), must be obtained from the Public Works Department. Any work that includes construction within the municipal road allowance may only be obtained by the Applicant/Owner’s contractor. The Utility Permit will be issued for these road works. The current costs of this permit are located under Fees and Charges.
After receipt of the permit, the applicant/owner’s responsibility is to contact the Town of Lincoln Public Works Department and request the required sewer and water inspections. Requests for sewer/water inspection shall be made 48 hours in advance.
Servicing permits approved by the Town are valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
Issuance of permits after the 6 months may require resubmission if any revisions to standards have changed. The applicant/owner will be required to pay the applicable servicing review fee.
All servicing inspections and review fees are not refundable.
